Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2 5.1 Home Cinema pack

The home theater speaker package Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2 System includes floorstanding speakers B & W 683 S2 , the center speaker B & W HTM61 S2 and compact speakers B & W 685 S2 and the ASW610 sub woofer.

In this together the best technologies developed by B & W. In this case the TSP , Nautilus and FlowPort technologies. The front speakers B & W 683 S2 and central B & W HTM61 S2 have identical speakers and guarantee a front soundstage of a perfect consistency. Each uses speakers with double bass aluminum cone , high - FST midrange with kevlar membrane and a dome tweeter with aluminum double load Nautilus. To improve the performance of low frequencies, each speaker uses a charge granted with bass reflex port FlowPort . We invite you to consult our technical notes on these technologies. Compact / surround speakers B & W 685 S2 use the same tweeter coupled to a loudspeaker bass-midrange with Kevlar .

Membrane Kevlar :
The medium is the sound spectrum where register for the majority of music information and a balanced midrange reproduction is an essential quality for any speaker . This is where the Kevlar . B & W has chosen since 1974, and for two reasons : its rigidity and lightness. The base fiber is first coated with a stiffening resin which will allow to form the cone . The latter is then treated with a polymer coating , which seals the fibers together and provides beneficial damping . The result is a semi- flexible membrane , which provides a specific and regular depreciation , unknown on other types of materials. Directivity is constant, regardless of the reproduced frequency , the minimum drag , which remains totally imperceptible to listeners . The sound is more transparent.

Tube Nautilus :
All are emitted by a speaker are not good to hear. Whoever creates the back of a speaker in operation in a conventional cabinet, may even become invasive to the point of damage that is emitted from the front of the membrane. The enclosure pioneer B & W Nautilus has definitely solved the problem of "boxes" . Thus, all the sounds you hear are necessarily good .

Flowport :
Car designers have great difficulty managing the high velocity air stream. If they fail to properly resolve this issue, not only the performances are reduced , but the noise level in the cabin of the vehicle increases . It is exactly the same with the vent of a bass-reflex enclosure. If turbulences appear in the flow of air in the vent, it follows the generation of a noise. And you mount the volume , the more serious loses firmness and respect of the initial rate. The Flowport B & W minimizes turbulence , through the use of small cavities on its surface, which generate allow air to flow smoothly and , most importantly, without noise.

FST:
Restitution midrange frequencies implying a large cone excursion speaker , B & W decided to stiffen the suspension of its speakers medium used in its three-way systems. The transitional regime is thereby increased , compared to most midrange speakers available on the market . This technology was called FST (Fixed Suspension Tranducer ) . A ring of foam , the same mechanical impedance of the outer edge of the membrane , is placed directly beneath it. Devices fail waves coming to the edge of the membrane are totally absorbed by the foam ring , which deforms also enough to accompany small membrane deflections . Furthermore , to prevent the flow of rear wave , B & W uses a structure finer bowl and neodymium magnets , strong and compact .
